Mud sling all anyone wants.  This has been coming a long time. Despit mine and Elena differences of opinion she did what she could as the other founders moved on in life. I believe her and I agree we dont like each other but I respect her for trying. As for Jim.  well he works super hard for nothing so I will give him credit for that. I believe him and I know nothing more need said on that as we do battle,

Can we as a community make the last post in this thread one of healing. Of letting go. Making peace. We are all human. We all make mistakes. Can we not forgive and forget? To move forwards as human beings?

I am very sorry to hear Jim will be leaving the support team. I know how many long hours he has worked spent on improving the Halcyon simulator code. My programming abilities are in another area, so I cannot help with the core work. But I can do testing, and I have several Halcyon worlds set up and I help others set them up. I have also helped with documentation on how it works.

Snoots: I suspect your post was removed, I do not know why. You have not heard of me before, because I don't choose to be visible most of the time. I prefer to help wherever I can, and I don't need anyone to generally know about it. I am not telling anyone how to feel or think. My statement is that I defend everyone's right to state their opinion, and also the right of those who could not careless about it. Hope the cookies are all good!

What you say has consequences, so try to do some consideration first before blasting away. Try walking in their shoes a while. I have seen this in SL a while back, and the same accusations being said here as was done in SL. Nothing changed as a result except peace and quiet when those people left SL. The same will happen here. I know I will not make it to anyone's diplomacy team. So I don't tend to say all that much. But the stream of vitriol being poured out here was not helping anyone or the situation and that is not cult following this world's owners. I have yet to find any one who has a perfect track record in grid management or business operation, including me. I am doing my best to learn the facts and what was a better way to handle a situation. I seriously appreciate the improved level of civility in the discussion after my -battle axe in the table- response. The fact is there is a problem and fast running out time limit. There is no "fixing" it. Do what can be done to help and move on. However that may be.

There is significant work being done to improve the simulator workings to move it forward into full 3D, secured content and faster rendering. Should be some results on that coming out in about a year from now. Stay tuned. The future is not closed and dead ended for these worlds and it will be fully compatible with what we have now. So have fun and do what you can to help!

Vin, in earnest I consider that overly-optimistic and unrealistic.

People are going to vent.  Venting back at them... no matter how well-intended... is useless.  Let 'em rant they certainly have the right.  And not all of them are incorrect.

We judge and hope and expect based on history, not on pipe dreams.   All that virtual worlds have displayed so far is a tendency to lag behind the rest of the industry, make blundering decisions, and in the case of SL stab their customers in the back in the name of increase profits (actually, they lost significant profits for that stunt).

Inworldz is offline, frankly because of a stack of falling dominoes caused by some rather bad management decisions followed by more bad management decisions.  I'm not insulting Inworldz in this; I'm stating the realities and expectations of running a business.   It's one thing to make some mistakes from time to time.  It's another entirely to run the entire business into the ground and lose untold $$$ in customer investments, not only in money but in time, creativity and community.

So all said and done, no one needs to be told they shouldn't be vehement about this.  That does no more good than rants... but the rants at least let people get things off their chests.  Unwarranted optimism also is of no value.   One would have to be pretty naive to think that the "New" Inworldz is going to be a wondrous new adventure.   It may be... or it may be a disaster.

So please, positive or negative, pro or con, let people speak their minds.  It is a maxim of business:  even negative customer feedback is still customer feedback.  Companies need to not only know what they're doing right... but what they've done horribly, horribly wrong.  *That's how people learn.*

Still hoping for IW to be rebuilt I ask: Where do we get information about the state?

Where will be announcements after IW is shut down? Where do we get news?

And if IW can't be rebuilt? What happens with the money we paid for the fundraiser?

Ask Beth she will tell you anything you want to hear I'm sure, After all, you all need to send her kids to college.

How can Kitely offer 4 regions, 60,000 prims on the cloud and have a thriving economy and be doing fine on a mere $19.95 a month rental and Beth at $60.00 managed to screw you all. Go ahead and follow this Idiot please.

@ SunnyJim.. Kitely is able to run their grid very efficient by using their servers capacity there where its needed. This means, when worlds ( sims ) are empty, they are not on line, until someone decides to teleport in , or the owner decides to log in. As we all know only a small percentage of the sims are active, its a smart way of using server capacity and reducing costs of them. The only disadvantage is, you need to wait a little bit until your world is started up, but I dont see this as a problem. ( for I think their sims performance is excellent)

I wish Inworldz and its residents all the best.   I was sad to hear that news that it was closing down and I know the feeling after Kaneva closed down in 2016 and I had been a member for 6 years. I hope Inworldz can return, but in the meantime I wish everyone peace and happiness and hope everyone finds a good virtual home.  Good luck and best wishes to all of you.

With the positive note above I like to express also my feelings and sorrow for all the work I've done the past 8 years and will be disappearing in void...
I decided to 'let it go', after all it is virtual work, ok some money is lost but I still have my health, my home and my RL income :-)
IW was a platform to learn, (blender to some extend) to create art and above all, I could upload 'for free', space I took on the rented servers by IW...
For that I thank you, despite it has to end like this in chaos !
I also like to thank all my customers who trusted my products and bought my stuff.

Also thanks to all the people who kept going behind the scene for this world to work.

Maybe we'll see each other back in another virtual reality but I have to think about this first...:-)

wish you all the luck wherever you go :-)

Wishing you all a soft landing after the events of this week.  I will be on DigiWorldz and eventually on an as yet unborn Utopia Skye grid for Golden Touch,  I know others have found other places to land.  If I see you in SL or on the Hypergrid I will welcome you warmly.  The residents of this grid have been the dearest of friends and family to me.   Best wishes wherever you may roam.  I know every one of the residents here will leave the world better than they found it.  And there's not much more good that can come from this than that.

It looks like the servers were down now as of 5.30am CST as I can no longer get in.  Farewell Inworldz, we hardly knew ye and Best Wishes to all the Inworldz residents.  May everyone find happiness and contentment in a new virtual home.

I didn't comment on any of this before now - no need really as it's all been said many times over.

My thanks go out to all who have supported the Script Library across the years - this was a product of your efforts as well as whatever the successive custodians have contributed.

To all who will now have potentially lost CX products: when/if a new grid materialises I think we can restore whatever you lose as the OAR procedure ought to give us the necessary resources to do that and I have a full database offline which records exactly who has what. We haven't withdrawn permission for our products to potentially go forward to a revived grid as the existing perms should cover that in the cases where people have managed to make an OAR work for them. I have no plans at present to make CX products available in other grids though.

I'm on a number of other grids around the metaverse so if you want to track me down just do a people search on whatever grid you're on, my name remains the same wherever I am.

This has been a big part of my life and it's a wrench to have to let it go - thank you all for the memories!

I'm not logging out.  Will go down with the ship.  First came to iwz in 2010 and experienced a steep learning curve about virtual worlds and building.  Still have my original sim from that time.  I will mourn the loss of creations by those who are no longer active in vr - Johnny Night, Julia Hathor, Elwing Quendra.  There are things in iwz they created that are not anywhere else.  No, they are not just things......they are imagination, creativity, fantasy, joy, pride......all built into a collection of prims.  To the friends I made, I wish you the best in the future.  We may meet again, pixels permitting.

Thank you Inworldz for all the beautiful memories!

Me and my friends learned so much here and have had so many joyful and funny moments. For me there will be no replace for that.

Please come back Inworldz with all our avatars and all problems fixed!

    It's hard to say goodbye!

Trying not to cry right now.  I was one of the Founder's Club, coming to IW first in 2010.  I have met such wonderful people from all over the world whom I never would have met otherwise.  Special thank yous go out to my favorite builders, the McAlpines, who built my first sim from scratch, and over the years have been able to build whatever houses I proposed to them.  I also want to thank all the performers who entertained us at all three of our venues at one time or another; the Lighthouse, the Half Note Lounge, and most recently the Oak and Ash.  We sadly lost 2 of them along the way, may they be singing and performing in Heaven, and lost one to an illness that fortunately did not kill him but has rendered him unable to perform anymore.  We had some great times. Khiron and Sierio, I will have to catch you both elsewhere.

Take care my friends.  The lights are now turned off....

I want to thank everyone who supported Varriale Designs for the past 5 years. It's been a unique and fun ride and it's a shame it can't continue.  I also want to thank the many friends I have made and who supported me throughout the years.  In Second Life I am SkyeRyder Varriale and will continue to be there with Varriale Designs.  Hope to see you there!  Skye

I have been in InWorldz since June 2010. I have loved it dearly. It was the first place I could afford to own a sim - a longtime virtual dream. Its abundance of prims enabled me to build the art I always wanted to. Prim abundance and free uploads enabled me to learn to build so many other things and experiment and keep experimenting. The longtime friendship between Wolfie and me blossomed into love in InWorldz. We went on to create so many wonderful things together - things for ourselves alone and things to help other residents realize their dreams. Though only pixels, our home sims have been so very precious to us. I cannot even put into words what it has all meant to both of us. The people I have met here who have been kind and funny and generous and appreciative have been a blessing

Wolfie and I will retreat to SL for now. The original home of the tinies, as tinies are a large part of our virtual identity. We have the same names over there. I will not be restarting my businesses. All that work seems overwhelming, what with all the permissions issues and work involved. Not to mention that RL is super busy this year. Many of you know that we are working to get me over to the UK in RL so that we can marry at the end of this year. It involves so much work and energy for me, my virtual time is limited mostly to coming in to spend time with Wolf and working for my musician friend Ganjo in SL.

We will visit other grids, have done so in the past, but for now our home will be SL.

I wish you all the best of the best for you, whatever that may be. My heart is broken today as I say goodbye to the grid I truly loved with all my heart.

    God speed -
